RHAM appoints South Windsor official as new superintendent | News

HEBRON – The Region 8 School Board has announced Colin McNamara, assistant superintendent at South Windsor, as the new superintendent of RHAM schools.

McNamara will assume the position formerly held by Acting Superintendent Scott Leslie on July 1, officials said in a press release.

Region 8 serves the cities of Andover, Hebron and Marlborough with RHAM High School and Middle School.

McNamara has worked as an assistant superintendent overseeing personnel and administration at South Windsor since 2014. He previously worked as an assistant superintendent at Wallingford and Killingly. He has also worked as a principal in Willington and an assistant principal in Fairfax, Va., and has experience as an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut, St. Joseph’s University in West Hartford and at George Washington University in Washington, DC.

“By interacting with the school board and district staff during the interview process, I learned even more about the exceptional work that goes on in schools every day,” McNamara said. “I look forward to working with the outstanding students, dedicated staff, engaged school board, supportive families and other community stakeholders in Hebron, Andover and Marlborough in the ongoing efforts to improve the educational experience. students.”

McNamara will complete the doctorate in education at the American College of Education this year while serving as superintendent.
