Miles Morales actor Nadji Jeter posted a deleted photo of himself in Mocap Hear, hinting that work on Spider-Man 2 has started.
Miles Morales actor Nadji Jeter posted and has since deleted a photo that many work believe work has officially started on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Marvel has so many projects going on at the same time that keeping the details of each one under wraps is a logistical nightmare. Tom Holland has become infamous for accidentally letting fans give details about upcoming projects. So much so that the creators of No Way Home used it to have a little fun in the build to unveil its title.
Holland is off the hook this time, because another Spider-Man may have revealed something a little earlier than he should have. Nadji Jeter, who plays Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man and the web-slinger apprentice spinoff game, posted a photo of him on Instagram wearing motion capture gear, then quickly deleted it.
The quick deletion of the photo appears to have been triggered by commentators speculating that Jeter was wearing the mocap suit as part of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 prep. Neither Insomniac nor PlayStation have confirmed that the game and its spinoff will even be a hit. sequel, so any discussion that work on the theoretical project has started will naturally be overwritten at source.
The speculation that Jeter is working on a Spider-Man sequel may seem overkill to some. However, according to VGC, the actor hasn’t done any mocap work since playing Sam in The Last Of Us outside of his work on the Spider-Man games. It’s possible Jeter was hired to be part of a whole new PlayStation project, but the photo’s quick removal after fans started talking about Spider-Man would suggest otherwise.
Although Spider-Man 2 has not been announced, it seems almost a given that the game will take place. The first game was one of the best performing titles on PS4, with over 20 million copies worldwide. Miles Morales had sold four million copies by the end of 2020 and will therefore be out of a far higher number than that at this point. A full sequel to the original game on PS5 will be a big deal for Sony when that happens.
