Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Mumba-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences – Vocational School (TISS-SVE) to train young people in automotive retail.
As part of this partnership, the company and TISS-SVE will offer a personalized three-year course in retail management with a specialization in automotive retail.
The program will focus on imparting industry-relevant technical and non-technical skills to young people, making them easily employable in the automotive retail value chain.
The three-year program will include one-year classroom training followed by two-year on-the-job training at authorized Maruti Suzuki dealers.

The mandatory 24-month on-the-job training will provide students with in-depth knowledge, prepare them to face real challenges in the field and prepare them for the industry, he added.
The course program, co-created by Maruti and TISS-SVE, complies with UGC guidelines and covers all business processes in the automotive trade.
In addition to giving hands-on experience in dealerships, students will also learn about Japanese work culture, soft skills, and more.
The sessions of the first batch of the 2021-22 academic year will start from October 2021.

The company had already initiated similar courses with Shri Vishwakarma Skill University in Gurugram, Haryana, GLS University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune, Maharashtra.
