An attack on critical race theory is an attack on all Americans

A Patriot is proud of our American history and can’t wait to teach our children everything: the good, the bad, and the ugly. E pluribus unum, among many others, un.

A descendant of the Mayflower experiences America differently from arrivals on a slave ship, differently from Japanese Americans detained in a WWII camp, differently from European immigrants to Ellis Island or from refugee arrivals at the airport Dulles International. Among the many, one.

Our united masses seek hope for equal justice and opportunity before the law. This is why women fought for the right to vote, why slaves sought freedom, why people fight for affirmative action and civil rights. That is why the individual American experience must be taught in every classroom.

Our laws and our history are not arbitrary. They have evolved through historical events, and one cannot understand the present without understanding the past.

An attack on critical race theory is an attack on all of us. As Americans, we aspire to learn and know each other’s roots. We are not the church against Copernicus who hides the truth about the Earth revolving around the sun. We examine the historical evidence of our ancestors and learn from their mistakes.
