Kudirat Abiola was a lady of elegance, the very ingenious wife of MKO Abiola, just behind Simbiat, the first in whose house Abiola ate fried eggs for the first time on their date days!
Kudi was a rallying force, a hive of ideas, a freedom fighter and to me the best 1st lady Nigeria has ever had. It will therefore not be out of place that a first lady of Nigeria wishes to be like her, Erelu Bisi Fayemi is not moved to want to complete her husband’s march in the footsteps of the Abiola.
But any good walk after an ideology must be in spirit and in truth.
MKO Abiola was the symbol of money, not only in Nigeria and Africa, but among the black race. When money, riches, and wealth were the topic of discussion, he was a pride in his generation!
Abiola was not born rich, he was rather handsome and poor, he literally begged by providing a traditional drumbeat service to survive! He inherited poverty, the panacea for which almost automatically in his day was education, but not anymore!
There are two forces of poverty in Nigeria that make people poor; the systemic force of poverty and the spiritual force of poverty. Systemic, as the name suggests, is the poverty caused in society by the system overseen by the oligarchy. This guy is the one who produced the Northern Almajiri system which limited out-of-school children mainly to northern Nigeria until Buhari became our president. Today, indeed, as Femi Adesina said, “Nigerians on the other side of the divide have a common experience of 12 million out-of-school children for whom Buhari has become more appreciated and popular than Obafemi. Awolowo! “
Awolowo’s political influence and politics have taken schoolchildren out of school, while Buhari’s level and policy in this area has resulted in millions of schoolchildren leaving school since he became president!
Awolowo lifted many of Abiola’s generation out of poverty through education, Buhari lifted Boko Haramist out of poverty through “his repentance to reposition project” which saw bandits become customs officers!
Abiola, was a phenomenal, who conquered every space he crossed, leaving behind mentees who are generals in their fields of activity, Dele Momodu in journalism, Kola Abiola in business, Bola Tinubu in politics, Sunny Okosun in Music and Entertainment and Kayode Fayemi in Journalism and Politics!
Abiola was so rich that late music meast Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister could only communicate it in discernible terms anyone in Nigeria could understand, when his initials, “MKO”, Barrister referred to Money, Kudi, Owo. Owo is the Yoruba word for money and Kudi is the Hausa word for it. Abiola was not only rich with money. If symbol and providence are things to do, he was the âolowo ori owoâ, being the husband of Kudirat. Speaking of Lady Kudi, she would have become the 1st Lady of Nigeria if Abiola had taken the oath after winning the presidential elections of June 12, 1993!
She fell under the bullets of Abacha’s commander, Sergeant Rogers, but Buhari’s magnanimity that saw Abiola honored with GCON was not extended to bring justice to the Kudirat killers!
His assassination by the Abacha junta government, in which Mohammadu Buhari served, took the struggle for democracy to another level when Kayode Fayemi’s voice was heard on Kudirat radio! There are many engagements with which the military was pushed, radio Kudirat was a “centrifugal force” against the military locally and internationally so the emergence of Kayode Fayemi in our political foray was not a surprise, he worked for it! What is surprising, however, is the sycophancy that characterized our presidential “hopeful fools”, apologies to Tunde Bakare!
Tinubu said in his solution providing a mechanism for clashes between herders and farmers that the Yoruba and the Fulani are one! What a way to further divide a country divided for personal ambition! Fayemi became a Muslim on his government’s 3rd anniversary, just to prove to the crowds in the north that he was ready to do anything in the race ahead. By this singular act, for me, he put a big question mark on his conscience, his conviction and his stability which are qualities required for leadership in our context as a nation!
Leadership in a multireligious society is better in the hands of men with strong social tendencies than a religious prostitute. The North will respect a believing Christian rather than a âChrist-Muslimâ personality one year from the elections! Fayemi obviously did not learn any lesson from Edo who saw a pastor lose the election to a practitioner, simply because he was wearing a turban!
In the Pentecostal world, an unbeliever dusted off a speaking tongue, a demon throwing the man of God into a nation sensitive to religion!
Our policies have not separated our convictions from our feelings! Abiola’s religious belief has never been questioned. He was a Muslim respected by Christians and Muslims to be one!
The biggest odds against Fayemi’s dream in 2023 don’t have to wait until 2023! As the race for governor in Ekiti takes center stage in the country, a group under the auspices of Ekiti Youth for Equity has made a passionate appeal to Governor Kayode Fayemi to reject the impositions of everything. candidate for the All Progressives Congress!
The group is embarrassed by the sensations it had of the body language of some politicians in the fold of the All Progressives Congress, suggesting that our presidential first lady of 2023, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, in order to be like Lady Kudirat Abiola and to consolidate her husband’s policy structures, resulted in a philosophy invented without the spirit and truth of Kudirat Abiola!
Eruu’s efforts for magnanimity are today labeled “Kudi-rat” in the management of Ekiti State government. It is no longer news that Erelu is the governor and government at home, since her husband moved to Abuja to poison the nest of his presidential ambition!
Erelu of course does not hide his preference for the aspiration of the secretary of the state government, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, whose office oversees the Kudi – rat, the money-consuming operation that would be carried out in all ministries. and government agencies in Ekiti. State!
The political organization in a recently released statement signed by its official, Victor Omogbemile and titled: “The Governor of Ekiti 2022, Mrs. Bisi Fayemi and the need for caution”, warned that the First Lady could end up losing her immense respect if it worked against the attempts. by APC to zone the governor’s ticket to Ekiti Sud!
He stated that obtaining Governor Fayemi’s ticket in 2007 was accomplished on the basis of zoning and that the next political waiver will not be an exemption for the current unrest for zoning and what was achieved then is similar!
âThe party leadership at the national level under Governor Mai Mala Buni is working tirelessly to ensure justice by insisting on the zoning of the presidency in the south, which has rekindled the hope of Kayode Fayemi!
It is rather sad that a beneficiary of such political justice tramples that of others in Ekiti State! The fact remains that for APC to ensure that the next governor of Ekiti State emerges via the zoning modality, he will be confronted with the Yoruba philosophy: âOhun ti a ba se loni, itan ni yio da lola â, meaningâ whatever is done today will become history tomorrow.
âWith a reminiscence of what happened in 2007, the people of Ekiti North made a stir on the basis that the two previously democratically elected governors, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and Ayodele Fayose were from the center and they believed that of other areas should have the opportunity Although these are mere opinions and not the position of the party constitution.
“It is this virulent plea by politicians on this axis that forced the APC and the PDP to choose Kayode Fayemi and Segun Oni for the election of governor in 2007!”
âAfter a long legal battle, Dr Kayode Fayemi was declared governor of the state in 2010, from which Erelu Bisi Fayemi became the first lady and wielded so much power and influence that maintains her ‘favorite project’ , kudi-rat!
The First Lady must not forget that history beckons and that lasting and endearing legacies are based on the legality of our conduct when we are given the opportunity to serve the public.
Evidence abounds on Omogbemile’s claim that Ms Fayemi is sticking her nose to politics. This can of course be mere rumors among party members as it has become customary for party members to peddle rumors. The rumor, of course, is the smoke that leads a smart investigative reporter to a successful discovery!
Ekiti is the poorest of all the states in the Yoruba nation in southwestern Nigeria. It’s on the lips in Ekiti State that Erelu tries to repay Oyebanji for state merger profits for being a good boy whose office is used to coordinate the “kudi rat” as a conduit to siphon off. billions of money since 2018 in preparation for 2023!
Is it just a rumor that Governor Fayemi’s budget to run the office of the secretary of state government that Oyebanji oversees is N30 million a month and that as a loyal boy, the rat formula is pegged to the ratio 1 to 2, this of course is raised higher when the needs of the office of the First Lady require it?
The smells of Ekiti’s kitchen and the “head chef”, Oyebanji, could have been a pleasant aroma for the First Lady’s office, but what’s below is more than it looks . Governor Kayode Fayemi will do well paying attention to the smoke from Erelu’s kitchen cabinets before it stifles her ambition and the fire from their stoves burns the state!
