It has always been one of the most romantic places in the Caribbean to visit, from the three-walled gems of Ladera and Jade Mountain to luxury resorts like Cap Maison and Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort.
And now Saint Lucia is looking to capitalize on its romance with the launch of a major new romance “high”.
The island held its first-ever “Say Yes to Saint Lucia” summit this month, attracting travel advisers from the island’s major global markets, including the United States, United Kingdom and the Caribbean.
Groups learned about the destination and explored dozens of sites ideal for marriage proposals, destination weddings and romantic getaways.
“What Saint Lucia offers is an experience that really cements the bonds that togetherness brings. So many places in Saint Lucia recognize the special moments of romance, weddings and honeymoons,” said Saint Lucia Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ernest Hilaire. “Choosing Saint Lucia is simply saying yes to an authentic world-class destination with unparalleled experiences.”
Host hotels included East Winds, Sandals Resorts, St. James Club Morgan Bay, StolenTime by Rendezvous and 25 Nuggets Collection.
“St. Lucia has extraordinary natural gifts, accommodations, varied experiences, and precision service excellence that today’s romantic travelers not only seek, but are willing to pay more for. The Global Romance Summit provided the ultimate showcase and immersive educational experience, which will undoubtedly pay future dividends in this critical market segment for Saint Lucia,” said Richard Moss, Senior Director of Sales, Tourism Authority from Saint Lucia and responsible for the Global Romance Summit.
