The partnerD Student organization hosted afsummer at aid students and teachers to get vaccinated.
The festival took place on December 2 at the Student Services Plaza or Associated student organization (ASO) members offered various amenities for those who received their first dose of vaccination either during the Vax Winter Festival or before.
These amenities included free food, games, free merchandising El Camino College, free vaccines and possibility of winning $ 300.
âThis was to motivate the students to get vaccinated, especially since our vaccination mandate goes into effect on January 3, where you will need to be fully vaccinated for all classes in person as well as in person. services,” ASO curator, Karine RamÃrez noted.
The Vax Winter Festival was also supposed to make it easier for students and teachers to get their vaccine doses, in addition to the booster.
“We just want allocate resources for students to have aplace to be vaccinated. Occasionally it is complicated to get vaccinated, now with people are going to have the boosters. We just wanted to make this process easier and let the students know that yes, we have this mandate but that we also provide them with vaccines â, ASO Senator, Kitiza Lopez noted.
Immunization supplies weren’t limited to COVID vaccines.
“Today we are offering all three COVID vaccines. So we have Johnson & johnson, Modern and Pfitzer. We will offer the initial shot, second dose, and the boosters too. We are also offer the flu vaccine.” Health services representing, Jason Carroll noted.
